Mazda i-ACTIVSENSE Technology

Mazda vehicles bring an active approach to safety using milliwave radars and cameras to scan and update you on your surroundings continuously. While driver’s focus on the road ahead, this system alerts you to potential hazards, avert collisions, or reduce their severity when one is unavoidable. The i-ACTIVESENESE system can broken down into two areas: Active Safety Technology (Helping prevent accidents from occurring) and Pre-Collision Safety Technology (Reducing the risk of an accident).

Active Safety Technology contains the following features:

  • Adaptive Front-Lighting System (AFS) –  Points the low-beam headlights in the direction that you steer.
  • High-Beam Control (HBC) Automatically switches headlights between high and low beams to help you drive more comfortably and safely.
  • Mazda Radar Cruise Control (MRCC) Automatically controls vehicle speed to maintain the distance to the car ahead.
  • Rear Vehicle Monitoring System (RVM) Alerts the driver to vehicles approaching on either side from the rear during highway driving.
  • Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS) Detects lane markings on the road surface and warns the driver of imminent unintentional lane departures.
  • Forward Obstruction Warning (FOW) Helps the driver avoid hazards by sounding an alarm when there is a risk of collision.

Pre-Collision Safety Technology contains the following features:

  • Smart City Brake Support (SCBS) Helps the driver avoid frontal collisions and reduce the damage resulting from an accident.
  • Acceleration Control for AT. Helps avoid sudden take-off when the accelerator pedal is pressed by mistake.

Passive Safety Features

Passive safety features are designed to protect riders and reduce damage in the case of a collision. Each Mazda includes the following passive safety features: SKYACTIV®-Body with a ring structure, seat belt with pretensioner and load limiter, anti-intrusion brake pedal, SRS Airbag Systems, and more. Visit Bob Moore Mazda for an in-depth tour of the passive safety features.
