Mazda’s newest nameplate, the CX-70, hits the lot in 2025! Mazda’s latest SUV is spacious, well-equipped, and plenty of fun to drive. As it enters its first year, the CX-70 joins Mazda’s other two-row SUVs, like the Mazda CX-5 and Mazda CX-50. While it offers two rows of seating, the CX-70 has more in common with the three-row Mazda CX-90, which offers a larger body and three rows of seating. The CX-70 removes the extra row of seating to ensure passengers have plenty of room to spread out, leaving a spacious cargo hold in the rear. The CX-70 also shares an engine with the CX-90, but due to its reduced weight, the CX-70 handles a bit better, with a driving experience closer to a sports car than an SUV. We’ll cover everything about the brand-new Mazda CX-70, from the powertrain to the technology features. Be among the first to get the 2025 Mazda CX-70 at our OKC Mazda dealership!
The base CX-70 is equipped with a turbocharged 3.3-liter inline-six, making 280 horsepower in the base configuration but up to 340 horsepower in S trim levels. Like the CX-90, a plug-in hybrid powertrain is also available, combining an inline four-cylinder with a couple of motors to generate 323 horsepower. Both models run up to 60 mph in about six seconds, and both are lauded for their excellent handling, making everyday driving or cornering windy roads feel more thrilling than past Mazda models. The PHEV powertrain draws power from a 17.8-kWh battery that offers 26 miles of range and can be charged from 20% to 80% in about 90 minutes when using a 240-volt connection. When sipping gas, both models get about 23 mpg on city streets and 28 mpg on the highway. At its best, the Mazda CX-70 can tow up to 5,000 lbs, perfect for plenty of mid-size boats and trailers. With a larger body than Mazda’s other two-row SUVs, the CX-70 is equipped for your bulkiest items or for that camping trip you overpacked for. The rear has 39.6 cubic feet of total cargo space, and folding the second row increases that to 75.3 cubic feet of total space. For its first production run, the CX-70 comes in five trim levels:
Trim Level: | MSRP: |
2025 Mazda CX-70 3.3 Turbo Preferred | $40,445 |
2025 Mazda CX-70 3.3 Turbo Premium | $45,900 |
2025 Mazda CX-70 3.3 Turbo Premium Plus | $48,900 |
2025 Mazda CX-70 3.3 Turbo S Premium | $52,450 |
2025 Mazda CX-70 3.3 Turbo S Premium Plus | $55,950 |
When breaking down the trim levels, the biggest thing to consider is the jump from 280 hp to 340 hp represented by S models. Aside from the performance, every CX-70 is well equipped, with leather-trimmed heated front seats that are standard on every model. As you move higher up the trim levels, you’ll find standard features like Nappa leather ventilated seats, a power sliding panoramic moonroof, and a 360-degree camera monitoring system. The CX-70 has started winning awards in its debut year, earning a Top Safety Pick+ award from the IIHS. That’s thanks partly to its stellar build quality but can also be attributed to the i-Activsense safety suite, which includes adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, and automated emergency braking. Connective technology starts with the 12.3-inch infotainment display in the center of the dash, connecting you to Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Amazon Alexa. Additional tech features include a 12.3-inch digital gauge and a head-up display.
The CX-70 is a joy to drive, offering practical cargo space with many standard amenities and premium features. Test drive the “Mazda CX-70 near me” with Bob Moore Mazda today!
